Fernando Alonso wins European Grand Prix

Valencia: Ferrari's Fernando Alonso became the first driver to win 2 races this season by winning a dramatic and accident-filled European Grand Prix on Sunday. The biggest surprise was the presence of Micheal Schumacher (3rd) on the podium for the first time since his return to F1.

Alonso, who was graded 11 on the starting line up drove his way through to the 1st place as the pole sitter Sebestian Vettel's car stalled mid-way through the race. The drama stretched on to the last lap as Lewis Hamilton and Pastor Maldonado, fighting for the 3rd place, collided with each other, paving the way for a lucky Schumacher.

Kimi Raikkonen of the Lotus finished second while Schumacher completed the podium.

Fernando Alonso now leads the driver's standings with 111 points, followed by Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton at 91 and 88 points respectively.
